Recap: West Virginia vs. Oklahoma

Morgantown, WV (SportsNetwork.com) - Eron Harris scored six of his game-high 28 points in overtime to lead West Virginia to a 91-86 win over No. 21 Oklahoma on Wednesday.

Juwan Staten added 20 points, 10 rebounds and six assists and Terry Henderson finished with 17 points for the Mountaineers (14-9, 6-4 Big 12), who have won three straight.

With the win, West Virginia moved into third place in the Big 12 standings.

Jordan Woodard scored 23 points and handed out eight assists and Buddy Hield scored 15 points and pulled down eight rebounds for the Sooners (17-6, 6-4), losers in two straight.

Tyler Neal chipped in with 16 points off the bench and Ryan Spangler finished with 10 points and nine rebounds in the setback.

A pair of Staten free throws with 14:50 to go in regulation gave the Mountaineers a 53-41 lead. WVU remained ahead by at least two possessions until Neal buried a 3-pointer at the 10:42 mark that pulled the Sooners within 61-58.

Harris answered with a 3 of his own to spark an 8-4 swing that stretched the Mountaineers' lead to 69-62 with just over seven minutes remaining.

The sides traded blows until a Neal trey with 3:49 left sparked an 11-1 run to put the Sooners ahead 81-78 with 1:18 on the clock.

After trading empty possessions, Harris drained a stepback 25-footer to tie things up with 24 ticks to go.

Isaiah Cousins missed a trey from the wing with six seconds left to send the game to overtime.

Harris hit a pair of 3-pointers around a Woodard free throw to make it 87-84 just under 2 1/2 minutes into the bonus session.

Woodard, who scored all six of Oklahoma's points in overtime, made it 87-86 with 1:36 to go, but Staten nailed a jumper from the right elbow and the Mountaineers went 2-for-4 from the line down the stretch to seal the win.

"This is probably the first big win of my life," said Harris. "We were in some of these games last year but we never got the big win."

The Sooners led 17-16 with 10:45 left in the first half, but a 13-4 WVU run put the hosts up 29-21.

The Mountaineers outscored Oklahoma 14-11 the rest of the way to take a 43-32 lead into the break.

"I thought West Virginia did a great job in the first half of knocking us on our heels a little bit. They were more aggressive, more physical, quicker to loose balls," said Oklahoma coach Lon Kruger.
