Recap: Texas Tech vs. South Dakota St

Lubbock, TX ( - Jordan Tolbert nearly recorded a double- double as the Texas Tech Red Raiders bested the South Dakota State Jackrabbits, 68-54, in a Legends Classic regional matchup at United Spirit Arena.

Tolbert finished with 19 points and nine rebounds, Dusty Hannahs tacked on 12 points and Jaye Crockett tallied 10 points for Texas Tech (4-1).

Brayden Carlson led South Dakota State (1-4) with 14 points, Cody Larson added 12 points, Chad White chipped in 11 and Jordan Dykstra had 10 rebounds but only seven points on 3-of-12 shooting.

In the first half the Red Raiders connected on 46.7 percent of their shots from the floor, while limiting the Jackrabbits to just 32.1 percent shooting. At intermission Texas Tech led 38-30.

In the second half Texas Tech cooled to 40.7 percent shooting but it held South Dakota State under 40 percent yet again to claim the victory.

Texas Tech dominated inside, outscoring the Jackrabbits, 34-16, in the paint. The Red Raiders also had a 22-7 advantage in points off turnovers.
