Recap: Northwestern vs. Western Mich

Evanston, IL (SportsNetwork.com) - Drew Crawford had 15 points and nine rebounds as the Northwestern Wildcats easily beat the Western Michigan Broncos, 51-35, in a non-conference matchup at Welsh-Ryan Arena.

JerShon Cobb scored 11 points and dished out five assists for the Wildcats (5-5). Alex Olah added 10 points.

The Broncos were led by Shayne Whittington's double-double of 12 points and 10 boards. David Brown chipped in 10 points for the visitors.

Northwestern shot 35.5 percent from the field and made zero 3-point shots in the first half, but it took a 24-12 lead into the break thanks to Western Michigan shooting even worse. The Broncos shot 23.5 percent from the floor and also made zero shots behind the 3-point line.

The Wildcats struggled mightily from the field in the second half (.292), but WMU was one again ice-cold (.250) as Northwestern held on.

The Wildcats dominated inside, outscoring the Broncos 26-16 on points in the paint. Northwestern's bench also outplayed Western Michigan's, outscoring the Broncos' reserves, 23-1.
