Recap: Northwestern vs. Miss Valley St

Evanston, IL (SportsNetwork.com) - Drew Crawford scored 26 points, collected 10 rebounds and dished out five assists as the Northwestern Wildcats trampled the Mississippi Valley State Delta Devils, 86-64, in a non-conference bout at Welsh-Ryan Arena.

Crawford connected on 9-of-15 field goal attempts and Sanjay Lumpkin (13 points, 10 rebounds) also recorded a double-double for Northwestern (6-5). Alex Olah and Tre Demps each added 18 points.

James Currington registered 14 points and 13 rebounds to lead MVSU (3-7). Cameron Dobbs tacked on 12 points and DeAngelo Priar finished with 10.

At halftime Northwestern had a 44-34 advantage. During the first period the Wildcats hit 56.3 percent of their shots from the floor, including 5-of-14 from 3-point range. MSVU connected on only 40 percent of its field goal tries.

The Wildcats coasted to victory in the second half by getting 50 percent of their field goal attempts and 20-of-25 shots from the free-throw line to fall.

Northwestern had decided advantages in scoring in the paint (38-20) and off turnovers (15-2).
