Recap: Northwestern vs. DePaul

Evanston, IL (SportsNetwork.com) - Billy Garrett Jr. barely got the ball off his finger tips and through the hoop as time expired to push the DePaul Blue Demons to a 57-56 win over the Northwestern Wildcats.

Sandi Marcius scored 12 and Cleveland Melvin had 11 points for DePaul (8-5), which has won four of its last five. Garrett added nine points.

Tre Demps poured in a game-high 23 points and Drew Crawford netted 15 points for Northwestern (7-6), which snapped a 3-game win streak.

Dave Sobolewski knocked down a trey with 4.9 to play to put Northwestern ahead by one, 56-55, before the Garrett layup.

Crawford nailed a turn around jumper with 2:08 to play to give Northwestern its first lead, 50-49, since they led 2-0 with 18:43 left in the first half. Marcius followed up the Crawford score with two 3-point plays around a Crawford free throw to give the Blue Demons a 55-51 advantage.
