Recap: West Virginia vs. Texas Tech

Morgantown, WV (SportsNetwork.com) - Terry Henderson scored a game-high 28 points as the West Virginia Mountaineers held on for an 87-81 victory over the Texas Tech Red Raiders in Big 12 Conference action at the WVU Coliseum.

Henderson connected on 10-of-13 shooting from the floor, including 5-of-6 from 3-point range for West Virginia (11-8, 3-3 Big 12). Juwan Staten netted 16 points, grabbed five rebounds and dished out seven assists in the win. Eron Harris added 15 points, and Nathan Adrian chipped in 10 off the bench. The win snaps a three-game WVU losing streak.

Dusty Hannahs scored 25 points and distributed six assists for Texas Tech (10-9, 2-4). Hannahs was a perfect 7-of-7 shooting from 3-point distance in the game. Jaye Crockett tallied 16 and pulled down six rebounds, while Toddrick Gotcher netted 15 points and Robert Turner contributed 13. The Red Raiders have lost four of their last six games.

West Virginia shot just 39.3 percent from the floor in the first half, but still led 40-39 at the intermission. Texas Tech shot 46.2 percent in the first frame, including 6-of-7 from 3-point range.

The Mountaineers exploded in the second period, hitting 69.2 percent of their shots in the half. The Red Raiders improved their shooting accuracy to 52.2 percent from the field in the frame, but it wasn't enough to come back against the Mountaineers.

WVU had the edge in points in the paint, 28-22, and the slight advantage in rebounding, 29-26.
