Recap: Purdue vs. Eastern Mich

West Lafayette, IN (SportsNetwork.com) - Bryson Scott scored 16 points to lead the Purdue Boilermakers to a 69-64 triumph over the Eastern Michigan Eagles in a non-conference tilt at Mackey Arena.

Bryson hit 10-of-13 shots from the free-throw line and also handed out five assists for Purdue, (8-2), which has won three-straight. Kendall Stephens added 13 points on just 4-of-12 shooting.

Karrington Ward paced Eastern Michigan (5-3) with 25 points and eight rebounds. Glenn Bryant chipped in 11 points and nine rebounds off the bench.

In the first half the Eagles shot a better percentage (.435) than the Boilermakers (.429) but still trailed, 35-29, at halftime. The Boilermakers were able to take the lead by forcing 10 turnovers and blocking seven shots in the period.

After halftime the Boilermakers forced another 10 turnovers to make up for a ghastly 36.4 percent shooting effort. The Eagles were only marginally better, netting 40.7 percent from the floor, but the miscues and a 16-9 deficit from the free-throw line proved to be too much to overcome in the final 20 minutes.

Eastern Michigan lost despite a 39-32 advantage on the boards.
