Recap: Connecticut vs. UCF

Storrs, CT (SportsNetwork.com) - Shabazz Napier registered a double-double with 14 points and a game-high 11 assists as the Connecticut Huskies crushed the UCF Knights, 84-61, in American Athletic Conference action at Gampel Pavilion.

Napier shot just 3-of-10 from the floor, but countered by also posting five rebounds and five steals as the Huskies (13-3, 1-2 AAC) captured their second win in as many games. Amida Brimah scored a game-high 20 points off the bench for the hosts, adding eight rebounds and five blocked shots, while DeAndre Daniels and Ryan Boatright contributed 13 and 11 points, respectively.

The Knights (9-5, 1-2) were paced by Isaiah Sykes with 17 points, while Eugene McCrory delivered 12 and nine rebounds, followed by Tristan Spurlock with 11 points as the team bowed for the second time in three outings.

UCF led by as many as six points in the opening minutes, but the visitors shot just 30.0 percent from the field in the frame, including 2-of-9 behind the 3- point line, en route to a 35-24 deficit at the break.

In the second half the Huskies feasted at the free-throw line, connecting on all but three of 20 opportunities, as they cruised to the comfortable victory.

UConn owned the glass with a 50-34 rebounding edge on the day.
