Recap: Connecticut vs. Temple

Hartford, CT (SportsNetwork.com) - DeAndre Daniels finished with 31 points and 12 rebounds to carry the Connecticut Huskies to a 90-66 victory over the Temple Owls in an American Athletic Conference contest at the XL Center.

Shabazz Napier added 27 points, seven rebounds and six assists for UConn (15-4, 3-3 AAC), which has won four of its last five. Niels Giffey tacked on 11 points.

Will Cummings netted 20 points to pace Temple (5-12, 0-6). Anthony Lee, who leads the AAC in rebounding, chipped in 14 points, but did not record a single rebound. Quenton DeCosey and Dalton Pepper each scored 12 points.

The Huskies nailed 59.4 percent of their shots from the floor, including 7- of-14 from beyond the arc, in the first half. The Owls hit on just 44.4 percent from the floor and trailed 48-34 at the break,.

UConn held Temple to 33.3 percent shooting in the final 20 minutes, while netting 46.2 percent itself.

The Huskies owned a 45-25 edge on the glass and outscored the Owls 36-12 from 3-point range.
