Recap: Seton Hall vs. Creighton

Newark, NJ (SportsNetwork.com) - Doug McDermott had a double-double to lift the Creighton Bluejays to a 79-66 victory in Big East action over the Seton Hall Pirates at the Prudential Center.

McDermott scored 30 points, collected 10 rebounds and handed out five assists for Creighton (12-2, 2-0 Big East), which has won seven straight. Jahenns Manigat added 14 points, Grant Gibbs chipped in 12 and Devin Brooks contributed 11.

Sterling Gibbs led the way for Seton Hall (10-5, 1-1) with 17 points. Brian Oliver hit 4-of-6 from beyond the arc to account for his 12 points and Patrik Auda tacked on 10 points.

Creighton led, 45-33, at halftime after shooting 47.2 percent from the floor, nailing 5-of-14 from beyond the arc and totaling 11 more field goal attempts than Seton Hall in the first half.

The Bluejays had another five 3-pointers in the second frame, when they shot 45.2 percent from the floor. The Pirates came nowhere close to rallying, recording just six field goals in the final 20 minutes.

Creighton outscored Seton Hall, 40-20, in the paint and had a 38-27 edge on the boards.
