Recap: Xavier vs. DePaul

Cincinnati, OH (SportsNetwork.com) - Justin Martin scored 22 points to lead the Xavier Musketeers to an 83-64 rout of the DePaul Blue Demons in Big East action at the Cintas Center.

Dee Davis added 17 points and seven assists for Xavier (18-8, 8-5 Big East), which has won three of its last four. Semaj Christon also had seven assists to go with 14 points and Isaiah Philmore tacked on 11 points.

Billy Garrett finished with 17 points for DePaul (10-17, 2-12), which has lost 10 straight. Forrest Robinson chipped in 14 points, Brandon Young had 12, on just 3-of-16 shooting, and Sandi Marcius tallied 11 points.

Xavier dominated in the first half, shooting 60 percent from the floor, while holding DePaul to 29.6 percent. The Blue Demons did knock down six 3-pointers, but trailed, 39-27, at the break.

The Musketeers improved to 70.6 percent shooting, including a 5-of-6 showing from beyond the arc, in the second half, as they coasted to victory.

Xavier outscored DePaul, 38-20, in the paint, while also holding a 33-26 edge on the glass.
