Recap: Wyoming vs. SMU

Laramie, WY (SportsNetwork.com) - Markus Kennedy scored 15 points and pulled down seven rebounds off the bench as the SMU Mustangs captured a 62-54 win over the Wyoming Cowboys in non-conference action at Arena Auditorium

Also scoring in double figures for the Mustangs (10-2) was Nic Moore who tallied 10 points on 4-of-11 shooting from the floor as the team extends its win streak to five in a row.

The Cowboys (7-4) were paced by Larry Nance Jr. who recorded a double-double with 16 points and 13 rebounds, both of which were game highs. Jerron Granberry added 12 points and four assists off the bench, followed by Josh Adams with 10 points in the loss.

Both teams struggled shooting the ball in the first half, with the Mustangs converting 32.1 percent and the Pokes just 30.0 percent from the field. However, Wyoming was able to take a one-point lead (22-21) at the break thanks to an 8-of-9 effort at the free-throw line.

In the second half SMU bounced back with 59.3 percent shooting from the floor, not to mention holding a 23-9 advantage on the glass, en route to the road win.

Wyoming, which lost the battle of the boards by a 39-29 margin, shot a mere 6- of-23 behind the 3-point line on the night.
