Recap: SMU vs. South Florida
Dallas, TX (SportsNetwork.com) - Markus Kennedy notched a double-double with 18 points and 10 rebounds, as the SMU Mustangs made easy work of the South Florida Bulls, 71-54, in an American Athletic Conference clash at Moody Coliseum.
Kennedy was 8-of-11 from the field and added four steals for SMU (12-4, 2-2 AAC), which has won two of three. Shawn Williams put up 16 points and seven rebounds, while Nic Moore logged 12 points and six assists.
For USF (10-7, 1-3), Zach Leday and Chris Perry netted 12 and 10 points, respectively.
SMU's dominance started early, as it outshot USF from the floor in the first half, 51.9 percent to 28.6 percent, and took a comfortable 38-23 lead into the halftime locker room.
The Mustangs continued their hot field goal shooting in the second stanza (.500), and their lead was never in doubt.
SMU cruised to victory despite shooting just 1-of-9 from 3-point range. It held a firm advantage down low, however, outscoring the Bulls in the paint, 42-24.Game Notes
