George Mason (5-3) was led by Sherrod Wright's 22 points. Bryon Allen scored 14 points while Mark Gujanicic chipped in 11.

The Patriots shot 42.5 percent from the field in the first period and made 3- of-7 shots from behind the 3-point line. George Mason held a 34-29 lead at the break. The Bulls struggled, shooting 37.5 percent from the floor and 1-of-5 from 3-point range.

The Bulls went on a 18-0 run with 12:19 remaining to erase a 17-point deficit. The final 7:56 saw the scoring margin never get higher than six points for either side. With 21 seconds remaining Allen tied the game up at 66-66 with a 3-pointer.
