Recap: South Florida vs. UCF

Tampa, FL (SportsNetwork.com) - Isaiah Sykes poured in 27 points, including the game-winning bucket in the final second of regulation, as the UCF Knights claimed a 75-74 win over the South Florida Bulls in an American Athletic Conference thriller at the Sun Dome.

Tristan Spurlock racked up 16 points, eight rebounds, four steals and three blocks to help the Knights (10-13, 2-10 AAC) avenge last Wednesday's overtime loss to USF and notch only their second road win of the season. The outcome also put an end to their nine-game losing streak. Justin McBrided added 13 points off the bench, while Staphon Blair scored a dozen and blocked four shots.

Victor Rudd (nine rebounds) and Martino Brock shared team-high scoring honors with 21 points apiece for the free-falling Bulls (12-14, 3-10), who have dropped eight of their last 10 games.

USF knocked down 4-of-10 first-half 3-pointers and led by as many as eight with six minutes to play in the opening frame. The Bulls eventually took a 38-34 lead into the break.

The Knights swung the momentum in their favor behind a 55-percent shooting effort from the floor in the second stanza, as they surged ahead by five with just over nine minutes to play in regulation. After USF reclaimed the lead in the final minute, Calvin Newell scooped up a defensive rebound for the Knights following a missed jumper by USF's Shemiye McLendon with 27 seconds to play, setting up Sykes' late-game heroics.

UCF shot 51 percent for the game and had four double-digit scorers for the first time since Dec. 22, a span of 13 games.
