Recap: Brown vs. Princeton
Providence, RI (SportsNetwork.com) - T.J. Bray netted 26 points, grabbed six rebounds and dished out five assists as the Princeton Tigers edged out the Brown Bears, 69-65, in Ivy League action at Pizzitola Sports Center.
Both Steven Cook and Will Barrett chipped in 10 points in the victory for Princeton (14-6, 2-4 Ivy), while Cook added five boards. The Tigers have won two games in a row.
Sean McGonagill scored 16 points and recorded a team-high six assists for Brown (12-9, 4-3). Leland King came off the bench to score 15 points with five boards, and Rafael Maia contributed 13 with five rebounds. The Bears have lost two of their last three games.
Princeton came out firing in the first half, netting 51.7 percent of its shot attempts, but went just 1-of-8 from beyond the 3-point arc. The Tigers found themselves down as the two teams broke for the intermission, 35-32, after Brown shot 43.8 percent, but hit three 3-point tries.
The Tigers came back in the second frame and created some separation against Brown. Princeton shot 52 percent from the floor in the period, and connected on 9-of-12 from the free-throw line. The Bears dropped their shooting accuracy to 39.1 percent, and allowed Princeton to retake the lead.
Princeton outrebounded Brown, 36-27, and had the edge in points in the paint, 44-28. Brown won the battle in bench points, 20-15.Game Notes
