Tempe, AZ (SportsNetwork.com) - Shaquielle McKissic scored 18 points as the Arizona State Sun Devils dropped the UC Irvine Anteaters, 74-61, in a non- conference tilt at Wells Fargo Arena.

Jahii Carson had 16 points for Arizona State (11-2). Jonathan Gilling added 13 points while Jermaine Marshall had 10. Jordan Bachynski brought down 10 boards and had six blocks.

Mamadou Ndiaye had a double-double for the Anteaters (7-7) with 12 points and 12 rebounds. Will Davis II added 14 points and 10 rebounds and Luke Nelson tacked on 12 points.

The Sun Devils took a 35-23 lead into the break thanks to UC Irvine's poor first half shooting. The Anteaters made just 28.1 percent of their field goal attempts and 2-of-7 from beyond the arc. Arizona State shot 34.3 from the field and 3-of-10 from 3-point range.

The Sun Devils turned it on in the second half by making 54.5 percent of their field goal tries and going 3-of-6 from behind the 3-point line. UC Irvine shot 53.3 percent from the floor and attempted eight more shots but it wasn't enough to catch Arizona State.

Despite losing UC Irvine held the rebounding advantage 44-34. Arizona State has now won five of its last six games.
