Recap: Arizona State vs. California

Tempe, AZ (SportsNetwork.com) - Jermaine Marshall netted 22 points and hit 6- of-8 from 3-point range as the Arizona State Sun Devils coasted past the California Golden Bears, 78-60, in a Pac-12 Conference tilt at Wells Fargo Arena.

Jonathan Gilling scored 15 points and grabbed five rebounds for Arizona State (21-8, 10-6 Pac-12). Shaquille McKissic chipped in 10 points and six boards with four assists in the win, which was the second in a row for the Sun Devils.

Justin Cobbs scored 15 points to pace California (18-11, 9-7), and Jordan Mathews contributed 14 points. David Kravish added 12 points and eight rebounds for the Golden Bears, who have dropped two consecutive contests.

Arizona State shot 33.3 percent from the floor in the first half, connecting on 4-of-10 from 3-point range, and took a 29-24 lead into the intermission. California shot 35.7 percent in the frame, but hit just 2-of-9 from 3-point distance.

The Sun Devils exploded in the second half, netting 69 percent of their field goal tries, including 6-of-9 from deep. The Golden Bears improved to 48 percent shooting in the period, but fell even further behind Arizona State's lead.

ASU held the edge in points in the paint, 30-16, and in bench points, 25-17.
