Recap: Saint Peters vs. Cornell

Jersey City, NJ (SportsNetwork.com) - Marvin Dominique finished with a double- double of 26 points and 13 rebounds to lead the Saint Peter's Peacocks to a 67-59 triumph over the Cornell Big Red in a non-conference battle at the Yanitelli Center.

Trevis Wyche and Desi Washington each added 11 points for Saint Peter's (4-7).

Cornell (0-12) got 21 points apiece from Nolan Cressler and Devin Cherry.

Dominique scored 14 points and grabbed nine rebounds in the first period, after which the Peacocks led 30-27. Saint Peter's shot at just a 32.1 percent clip in the period, compared to a 35.5 percent rate from Cornell, but the Peacocks held a 10-1 edge in scoring from the free-throw line.

Once again the Peacocks were the poorer shooting team in the second half, netting 42.9 percent to the Big Red's 45.8 percent. However, Saint Peter's again earned an edge from the charity stripe (17-6) to pull out the win.

Saint Peter's enjoyed a 16-7 scoring advantage off turnovers as well.
