Recap: St Bonaventure vs. Cornell

St. Bonaventure, NY (SportsNetwork.com) - Jordan Gathers scored 20 points off the bench to carry the St. Bonaventure Bonnies to an 81-57 romp of the Cornell Big Red in a non-league bout at the Reilly Center.

Matthew Wright and Dion Wright each scored 16 points for St. Bonaventure (10-4), which has won four of its last five. Charlon Kloof added 12 points.

Nolan Cressler paced Cornell (0-13) with 19 points. Devin Cherry tacked on 13 points. The Big Red have lost 19 straight dating back to last season.

The Bonnies shot 46.4 percent from the floor and nailed six 3-pointers, while Cornell hit just 38.5 percent in the first half. St. Bonaventure led, 38-28, at intermission.

After the break the Bonnies improved to 53.1 percent shooting as they ran away with the victory.

St. Bonaventure assisted on 21 of 30 field goals, while Cornell had just 22 total field goals and eight assists.
