Recap: Colorado vs. Utah

Boulder, CO (SportsNetwork.com) - Askia Booker scored six points and pulled down three rebounds in the overtime period as the Colorado Buffaloes slipped by the Utah Runnin' Utes, 79-75, in Pac-12 Conference action at the Coors Events Center.

Booker finished the meeting with 18 points, eight boards and seven assists for the Buffaloes (16-6, 5-4 Pac-12) as they snapped a two-game slide. Josh Scott recorded a double-double for the hosts with 20 points and 10 boards, while Xavier Johnson posted 11 points and matched him on the glass. Xavier Talton responded with 14 points off the bench, shooting 4-of-5 behind the 3-point line, while Wesley Gordon pitched in with 12 points.

The Runnin' Utes (14-7, 3-6) were paced by Brandon Taylor and Delon Wright with 17 points apiece, the latter also handing out 11 assists and claiming seven steals. Dakarai Tucker added 11 points on 3-of-5 from 3-point range, but still Utah bowed for the third time in as many games.

Colorado, which shot 50 percent from the field in the first half, led by as many as seven points in the period, but a 14-0 run by the visitors late in the frame pushed them out to a 37-31 advantage.

In the second half the Buffs fought their way back, outscoring Utah by a 12-2 margin through the second 20 minutes of action.

Scott converted a pair of free throws with 19.2 seconds remaining in regulation to give the Buffaloes a 65-62 advantage, but that still left plenty of time for Taylor to tie the meeting at 65-65 with a deep 3-pointer. Still with 5.3 seconds left, Colorado had one last chance for the win in regulation but missed a triple from the top of the key as time expired.

In the extra session Booker took over and guided the home team, which easily won the rebounding battle (42-24), to the win.
