Anchorage, AK (SportsNetwork.com) - Steve Moundou-Missi scored a game-high 20 points and grabbed eight rebounds to help Harvard edge Denver, 68-60, on Thursday in the first round of the Great Alaska Shootout.

Wesley Saunders followed with 19 points and nine boards, while Kyle Casey chipped in 10 points and eight rebounds for the Crimson (5-1), who will take on Green Bay in the semifinals on Friday.

Brett Olson led Denver (0-3) with 16 points, five rebounds and four assists in the setback. The Pioneers shot 42.6 percent (20-of-47) from the field, despite going 4-for-18 from 3-point range.

Denver jumped out to a 7-2 edge in the early going, but Harvard answered with a 12-0 surge to build a 14-7 lead and never looked back.

The margin reached 10, 36-26, by halftime, but a 9-2 Denver swing midway through the second brought the Pioneers within 46-42.

However, the Crimson countered with a 14-5 run to push the margin above double-digits and knocked down just enough free throws down the stretch to keep Denver at bay.
