Recap: Oregon State vs. Towson

Corvallis, OR (SportsNetwork.com) - Behind a career-high 27 points from Angus Brandt, the Oregon State Beavers held off the Towson Tigers, 76-67, in non- conference action at Gill Coliseum.

Brandt shot 10-of-15 from the field for Oregon State (6-2) while also grabbing six rebounds. Devon Collier chipped in 13 points, seven rebounds and five assists for the hosts.

For Towson (7-5), Mike Burwell scored 20 points on 8-of-13 from the floor. Marcus Damas added 14 points, Four McGlynn had 12 points and Jerrelle Benimon tallied a double-double with 11 points and 12 rebounds.

Oregon State held a comfortable 41-29 advantage after one half by shooting 53.1 percent from the field in the first 20 minutes, compared to just 35.7 percent for Towson.

The Beavers regressed to only 34.8 percent field goal shooting in the second half but made 17-of-25 at the foul line and never surrendered the lead.

Oregon State outscored Towson in the paint, 36-22.
