Recap: Utah vs. Oregon State

Salt Lake City, UT (SportsNetwork.com) - Brandon Taylor scored 23 points and handed out eight assists to lead the Utah Utes to an 80-69 victory over the Oregon State Beavers in a Pac-12 Conference matchup at the Jon M. Huntsman Center.

Delon Wright added 14 points, seven rebounds and six assists for Utah (12-2, 1-0 Pac-12), which also received 14 points from Jeremy Olsen. Jordan Loveridge scored 10 points and recorded a pair of steals.

Roberto Nelson paced OSU (8-6, 0-1) with 16 points. Hallice Cooke tallied 14 points and Langston Morris-Walker chipped in 11 points.

Utah took a 41-32 lead into the break after it knocked down 7-of-13 attempts from behind the 3-point line in the opening 20 minutes of the league opener. The Beavers fell behind after converting only 39.4 percent of their shots from the floor in the first period.

The Utes slightly extended their lead by shooting 63.6 percent from the field after the break. OSU hit on 5-of-12 tries from 3-point range in the second stanza, but it was not enough to erase the first half deficit.

The Beavers' reserves outscored Utah's bench, 31-6. The Utes assisted 23 of their 29 made field goals in the contest.
