Recap: Stanford vs. Cal Poly

Stanford, CA (SportsNetwork.com) - Chasson Randle and Stefan Nastic each scored 20 points to carry the Stanford Cardinal to a 79-62 victory over the Cal Poly Mustangs in non-conference action at Maples Pavilion.

Dwight Powell stuffed the stat sheet with 15 points, eight rebounds, five assists and three blocks for Stanford (9-3). Josh Huestis scored 10 points and missed out on a double-double by a single rebound.

Chris Eversley had a game-high 25 points for Cal Poly (4-8), which has lost three straight. Joel Awich netted 11 off the bench before fouling out.

Stanford ran out to a 33-20 lead at halftime. The Cardinal connected on 56 percent from the floor in the first 20 minutes, while holding Cal Poly to just 25.7 percent.

The Mustangs improved to 46.7 percent shooting after intermission but it was not enough to catch Stanford, which netted 61.1 percent from the field, including a perfect 5-of-5 effort from 3-point range.

Stanford enjoyed a 24-11 scoring advantage from the free-throw line. The teams were even on the boards (32-32), though the Mustangs had 14 offensive rebounds to only two for the Cardinal.
