Los Angeles, CA (SportsNetwork.com) - Kyle Anderson posted a double-double with 23 points and 12 rebounds as the UCLA Bruins crushed the USC Trojans, 107-73, in a Pac-12 Conference showdown at Pauley Pavilion.
Anderson, who shot 10-of-14 from the floor, also handed out a team-best five assists for the Bruins (12-2, 1-0 Pac-12) as they won for the fourth time in five outings. Jordan Adams added 21 points and six steals for the hosts, followed by reserves Bryce Alford and Zach LaVine with 20 and 16 points, respectively.
The Trojans (9-5, 0-1) were paced by Byron Wesley with 21 points and nine rebounds, followed by J.T. Terrell with 14 points off the bench, although the latter shot just 5-of-16 from the floor and 2-of-9 behind the 3-point line. Julian Jacobs pitched in with 10 points, five rebounds and five assists as the team had a two-game win streak snapped.
USC led by a basket early on in the meeting, but that was before the UCLA offense got into gear and knocked down 61.1 percent from the floor, 6-of-11 beyond the arc and a perfect 6-of-6 at the free-throw line for a 56-34 advantage at the break.
In the second half the Bruins dipped to 54.3 percent accuracy from the field, but still there was very little threat brought by the visitors over the final 20 minutes of action.
UCLA forced 17 turnovers and limited the Trojans to only 5-of-19 shooting beyond the arc.Game Notes
