Recap: USC vs. Howard

Los Angeles, CA (SportsNetwork.com) - Byron Wesley scored 20 points, helping the USC Trojans breeze past the Howard Bison, 82-60, at the Galen Center.

Wesley shot 8-of-12 from the field for the Trojans (9-4) and grabbed eight rebounds. J.T. Terrell scored 18 points on 7-of-13 from the floor, Nikola Jovanovic added 15 points and Omar Oraby pulled in 10 rebounds.

Solomon Mangham and Prince Okoroh each contributed 11 points for the Bison (3-13). Keon Hill added nine points and five assists.

USC was the slightly better team in the opening half, shooting 50 percent from the field to its opponent's 40 percent mark. The Bison shot just 1-of-7 from 3-point range and 1-of-3 at the line and trailed 29-26 at the half.

The Trojans improved to shoot 60 percent from the floor in the second half and eventually put the game out of reach as the Bison shot just 37.1 percent. They also knocked down 12-of-16 at the line, while the Bison could only make 6- of-12. USC led by as many as 29 points with just under four minutes to play.

The Trojans dominated the inside, outscoring the Bison in the paint, 40-26, and outrebounding them 48-26. The Bison converted just 3-of-17 3-point attempts and 7-of-15 free throws.
