Recap: Boise State vs. Utah

Boise, ID (SportsNetwork.com) - Derrick Marks finished with 17 points and connected on the game-winning jumper in the final minute to lift the Boise State Broncos to a 69-67 victory over the Utah Runnin' Utes at Taco Bell Arena.

Anthony Drmic added 14 points for Boise State (7-0), which is off to its best start in program history. Mikey Thompson netted 13 points, while Ryan Watkins tallied eight points and 10 rebounds.

Jordan Loveridge put up 19 points in Utah's (6-1) first loss of the season, while Delon Wright stuffed the stat sheet with 15 points, 11 rebounds, seven assists and four steals.

Even though it shot just 36.7 percent from the field in the first half, Boise State carried a 32-25 lead into intermission thanks to a 7-of-8 showing at the free-throw line.

With the Broncos leading by eight early in the second half, the Utes ripped off an 8-0 run to tie the game up, and the contest would remain a back-and- forth battle down the stretch. Loveridge drained a 3-pointer with 1:52 to play to give Utah a one-point lead, but Boise State answered less than a minute later when Marks made the game-winning jumper. Although Jeff Elorriaga had an 0-of-2 trip to the foul line with four seconds left for Boise State, thus failing to make it a two-possession game, Utah could not get a final shot off before the buzzer.

The game consisted of six ties and 14 lead changes. Boise State held slim advantages in both the rebounding (32-28) and turnover (13-12) battles.
