Recap: St Marys-CA vs. Drake

Moraga, CA (SportsNetwork.com) - Beau Levesque scored 16 points and Brad Waldow posted a double-double as the Saint Mary's Gaels secured a 67-63 win over the Drake Bulldogs in non-conference action at McKeon Pavilion.

Waldow finished with 15 points and 13 rebounds for Saint Mary's (4-0). James Walker III netted 13 points and Stephen Holt chipped in 10.

Richard Carter tallied a game-high 18 points and Daddy Ugbede tacked on 11 off the bench for Drake (2-1).

In the first half the Gaels only shot 37.8 percent from the field but they were able to hold the Bulldogs to just nine field goals to claim a 33-22 lead at the break.

After halftime the Bulldogs knocked down 5-of-11 shots from beyond the arc but they could not get past the Gaels, who hit 44 percent from the floor and 9-of-14 from the free-throw line to hold on.

Drake lost despite having a 17-11 edge in points from the charity stripe.
