Recap: IUPUI vs. Drake

Indianapolis, IN (SportsNetwork.com) - Chris Caird scored a game-high 17 points as the Drake Bulldogs completed a 75-52 rout of the IUPUI Jaguars in a non-conference matchup at IUPUI Gymnasium.

Jordan Daniels contributed 15 points and six assists for Drake (9-3) while Aaron Hawley added 12 points and nine rebounds. Blake Danielak scored 10 points and pulled down nine boards for the Bulldogs as they picked up their third consecutive winning decision.

Mitch Patton registered a double-double with 13 points and 12 boards for IUPUI (4-12). Ja'Rob McCallum added 12 points and Marcellus Barksdale scored 11 in the setback.

Drake took a 42-27 lead into halftime after it hit on 50 percent of its field goal attempts including 6-of-10 from behind the 3-point line in the opening 20 minutes of the contest. The Jaguars shot only 37 percent from the floor in the first period.

IUPUI continued to struggle and made only 32.1 percent of its field goal tries in the second half. The Bulldogs extended their advantage by despite converting only 3-of-14 attempts from beyond the arc after the halftime.

Drake enjoyed a 49-30 edge in the rebounding battle. The Bulldogs' reserves outscored IUPUI's bench, 29-16.
