Recap: Illinois State vs. Drake

Normal, IL (SportsNetwork.com) - Bobby Hunter scored 19 points and dished out a team-best four assists as the Illinois State Redbirds downed the Drake Bulldogs, 75-57, in Missouri Valley Conference play at Redbird Arena.

Nick Zeisloft chipped in 15 points for Illinois State (12-10, 5-5 MVC), connecting on 5-of-7 from 3-point range. Reggie Lynch and Zach Lofton each tallied 10 points for the Redbirds, who ended a three-game losing streak with the victory. Lofton added seven rebounds in the win.

Trevor Berkeley netted 13 points to pace Drake (12-10, 3-7), adding eight rebounds. Chris Caird scored 10 points in the loss. The Bulldogs have lost two of their last three games.

Illinois State connected on 51.9 percent of its shot attempts in the first half, including 5-of-11 from 3-point distance. The Redbirds went into the intermission with a 43-35 lead over Drake, which shot 43.8 percent in the first frame.

Illinois State barely let up in the second period, hitting 50 percent of its shots from the field. Drake's shooting percentage dropped significantly down to 21.7. The Bulldogs went 1-of-10 from 3-point distance in the frame.

The Redbirds held the edge in fast break points, 15-6, and in bench points, 23-17. Drake outrebounded Illinois State, 41-27.
