Recap: Colorado State vs. Air Force

Fort Collins, CO (SportsNetwork.com) - Daniel Bejarano led the Colorado State Rams with 27 points and nine rebounds in a 74-68 Mountain West Conference win over the Air Force Falcons in a bout at Moby Arena.

J.J. Avila stuffed the stat sheet for the Rams (12-7 3-3 MW) by putting up 21 points, grabbing five rebounds, dishing out four assists, nabbing three steals and blocking two shots. Joe De Ciman had 11 points to help the Rams win their second straight.

The Falcons (9-8, 3-3) have now lost three of their last four games. They were led by Max Yon, who scored 23. Marek Olesinski tallied 18 points and nine rebounds while Kamryn Williams scored 16, grabbed seven boards and had two blocks.

In the opening stanza the Rams jumped out to a quick 6-0 lead which eventually grew to 21-10. The Falcons cut the lead down to one, at 24-23, but the Rams closed out the half well and led 34-28 at the break.

The second half saw the Falcons turn a 54-48 deficit into a 61-56 lead with 7;03 remaining in the game. Bejarano gave the Rams a 65-64 lead after a 3- point shot with 2:04 left in the game and extended that lead to four less than a minute later after hitting another shot from distance. The Rams made the game interesting by hitting just 4-of-8 foul shots in the final minute, but still held on for the win.

Both teams saw meager production from their benches, with the Rams getting just four points from David Cohn and the Falcons just two points each from DeLovell Earls and Zach Kocur. The Rams had the edge in points off turnovers, 16-9, and in points in the paint, 32-24.

Extra Points: Two wrongs don't make a right for Goodell

The fact that we look to Roger Goodell and the NFL to take the lead on any number of social issues should say more about us as a society than the commissioner or the league he lords over.
