Recap: Illinois State vs. Loyola-Chicago

Normal, IL (SportsNetwork.com) - Nick Zeisloft scored 12 points as the Illinois State Redbirds beat the Loyola-Chicago Ramblers, 59-50, in a Missouri Valley contest at Redbird Arena.

Reggie Lynch finished with 11 points, three blocks and three steals for the Redbirds (9-7, 2-2 MVC). Bobby Hunter and John Jones tallied 10 points apiece while Jones brought down seven boards.

Milton Doyle paced the Ramblers (6-10, 1-3) with 15 points. Jeff White logged 12 points while Christian Thomas had nine rebounds.

Both teams were fairly even in the first period as the score was tied at 27 heading into intermission. Loyola shot 37.5 percent from the field while Illinois State shot 37.9 percent.

The Redbirds opened the second half with a 19-5 run and cruised to the victory from there.

Illinois State played well inside, as it outscored the Ramblers 34-22 in the paint.
