Recap: Eastern Ill vs. Indiana State

Charleston, IL (SportsNetwork.com) - Jake Odum led the Indiana State Sycamores with 15 points, powering them past the Eastern Illinois Panthers, 66-48, at Lantz Arena.

Odum sank 3-of-4 from 3-point range and 4-of-4 from the free-throw line for the Sycamores (6-2). Manny Arop scored 12 points and grabbed seven rebounds. Demetrius Moore added another 10 points.

Sherman Blanford notched a double-double for the Panthers (3-6) with 18 points and 10 rebounds. He was the only EIU player in double figures.

The Panthers struggled to find their scoring touch in the first half, shooting only 30.8 percent from the field, while the Sycamores shot 40.7 percent as they ran out to a 30-24 lead at half.

The second half was even crueler to the Panthers, who shot only 28.6 percent, including only 1-of-6 from the perimeter. The Sycamores shot 44.8 percent from the floor, never trailing in the half and leading by as many as 19 points.

The Sycamores outscored the Panthers in the paint (38-24), on points off turnovers (14-8) and on fast-break points (20-4) in the one-sided victory.
