Carbondale, IL (SportsNetwork.com) - Anthony Beane paced all scorers with 22 points, as the Southern Illinois Salukis made easy work of the Indiana State Sycamores, 79-60, in Missouri Valley Conference action at SIU Arena.

Desmar Jackson netted 16 points for SIU (7-15, 3-8 MVC), which had been losers of three straight coming in. Bola Olaniyan (12 points, 12 rebounds) and Sean O'Brien (11 points, 12 rebounds) both tallied double-doubles for the hosts.

For Indiana State (16-5, 7-2), Justin Gant led the way with 14 points, while Manny Arop and Jake Odum poured in 12 and 11 points, respectively.

Neither team shot greater than 39 percent from the floor in the first half. SIU missed all 10 of its 3-point attempts but shot 5-of-6 at the free-throw line and carried a 25-16 lead into intermission.

The Salukis opened the second half on a 7-0 run and their lead was never in jeopardy from that point forward.

SIU outscored Indiana State at the foul line, 25-11, and held a firm 42-24 scoring advantage in the paint.
