Recap: Boise State vs. Fresno State

Boise, ID (SportsNetwork.com) - Ryan Watkins registered a double-double with 15 points and a game-high 17 rebounds as the Boise State Broncos picked up an 86-79 win over the Fresno State Bulldogs in Mountain West Conference play at Taco Bell Arena.

Anthony Drmic scored a team-best 19 points, cleared five rebounds and handed out five assists for the Broncos (11-3, 1-0 MWC) as they won for the third time in four tries. Jeff Elorriaga and Mikey Thompson tacked on 12 and 11 points, respectively.

The Bulldogs (7-8, 0-2), losers of two straight and five of six, were led by Tyler Johnson who tallied a game-high 22 points, cleared eight rebounds and distributed five assists. Marvelle Harris pitched in 19 points, Cezar Guerrero 16 and Allen Huddleston 13 points.

Fresno State led by four points early in the meeting, but the team ended up shooting just 34.6 percent from the field in the period, en route to a 46-25 deficit at the break.

BSU dropped from 47.4 percent accuracy from the floor through the first 20 minutes to just 33.3 percent in the second half, but made up for it with 27- of-34 shooting at the free-throw line.

The Broncos, who held a 42-26 edge on the glass, outscored the visitors at the charity stripe on the night, 28-14.
