Recap: UNLV vs. Boise State

Las Vegas, NV (SportsNetwork.com) - Khem Birch posted 15 points, 15 rebounds and six blocks, as the UNLV Runnin' Rebels came from behind to defeat the Boise State Broncos, 73-69, in a Mountain West Conference bout at the Thomas & Mack Center.

Kevin Olekaibe led the way with 18 points for UNLV (15-7, 6-3 MWC), winners of four in a row. Bryce Dejean-Jones added 11 points for the hosts.

For Boise State (15-7, 5-4), Derrick Marks paced all scorers with 22 points. Ryan Watkins tallied a double-double with 11 points and 12 rebounds, while Thomas Bropleh netted 13 points off the bench.

The first half belonged to the Broncos, who shot 53.3 percent from the field en route to a 37-27 lead at intermission. UNLV struggled from the floor, shooting only 39.1 percent.

The script was flipped after halftime, with the Rebels draining 54.2 percent of their field goal tries to Boise State's 44.4 percent. After UNLV climbed back to tie the game at 46 with 12 minutes left, the Broncos ripped off an 11-0 run to regain control. That advantage was short-lived, however, as the Rebels ran off a 15-2 surge late in the frame, with a Kevin Olekaibe 3-pointer with 20 seconds left proving to be the game-winner. A pair of Dejean-Jones free throws in the waning seconds sealed UNLV's fate.

The Rebels shot 24-of-32 from the free-throw line, while the Broncos were just 7-of-11.
