Recap: Fordham vs. Loyola-Chicago

Bronx, NY (SportsNetwork.com) - Jon Severe poured in a game-high 23 points to lead Fordham to an 83-69 win over Loyola-Chicago from Rose Hill Gymnasium.

Bryan Smith added 17 points and seven rebounds, Branden Frazier had 16 points and nine assists and Ryan Rhoomes finished with 14 points for the Rams (7-4) winners in three of their last four.

Devon Turk scored 17 points off the bench while Christian Thomas and Cody Johnson added 12 and 11 points, respectively, for the Ramblers (5-7), who have lost two straight.

Loyola led 38-29 at the break, but Fordham opened the second half on a 12-2 run to take a 41-40 lead. A Smith 3-pointer at the 8:29 mark made it 56-48, but the Ramblers rallied to pull within four, 66-62, after Jeff White knocked down a triple with 3:06 left.

Severe, who finished just 2-of-10 from 3-point range, nailed a trey with 1:45 remaining and the Rams went 14-for-14 from the free throw line down the stretch to seal the win.
