Recap: Loyola-Chicago vs. Northern Iowa

Chicago, IL (SportsNetwork.com) - Milton Doyle scored a game-high 28 points and Christian Thomas added 20 to lead the Loyola-Chicago Ramblers to a 93-87 overtime victory against the Northern Iowa Panthers in Missouri Valley Conference action at Gentile Arena.

Jeff White tallied 14 points and five assists and Joe Crisman tacked on 10 points for Loyola (8-12, 3-5 MVC).

Deon Mitchell led the way for Northern Iowa (10-10, 4-4) with 23 points. Seth Tuttle tacked on 17 points and nine rebounds and Nate Buss and Matt Bohannon tallied 12 points apiece.

The Panthers led 32-20 at halftime. They shot at a 40.6 percent clip, compared to Loyola's 48 percent, but a 5-of-13 effort from beyond the arc earned them the edge.

The Ramblers improved to 61.9 percent shooting in the second frame, but it was not until Thomas sank a pair of free-throws with 18 seconds to play that they were able to tie things up. Mitchell and Tuttle each missed shots at the other end, necessitating overtime.

Devon Turk and Milton each knocked down 3-pointers in the first two minutes of the extra session to earn the Ramblers a lead they would never relinquish.

Loyola outscored the visitors 34-26 in the paint.
