Recap: Colorado State vs. Denver

Fort Collins, CO ( - Brett Olson scored 24 points to carry the Denver Pioneers to an 80-70 victory over the Colorado State Rams in a non- conference joust at Moby Arena.

Chris Udofia added 15 points and nine rebounds and Dom Samac tacked on 12 points for Denver (3-5), which has won three of its last four.

Daniel Bejarano had a double-double of 17 points and 12 rebounds for Colorado State (7-4). J.J. Avila contributed 16 points and six assists and Jon Octeus and Joe De Ciman finished with 12 points apiece. The Rams had won five of their previous six contests.

The Pioneers clung to a 31-29 lead at halftime after shooting 48.3 percent from the floor during the first period. The Rams shot a better percentage from the field (.522) but had six fewer field goal attempts.

After the break Denver knocked down 7-of-11 shots from beyond the arc, part of a 53.6 percent shooting effort overall. Colorado State turned in a 56.5 percent showing but managed only two 3-pointers.

The Pioneers had a 14-4 scoring advantage off turnovers.
