Recap: Colorado State vs. Fresno State

Fort Collins, CO (SportsNetwork.com) - Daniel Bejarano and Jon Octeus each scored 19 points and grabbed seven rebounds, as the Colorado State Rams easily handled the Fresno State Bulldogs, 76-57, in Mountain West Conference action at Moby Arena.

J.J. Avila netted 13 points, pulled down a game-high 17 rebounds and dished out six assists for Colorado State (11-6, 2-2 MWC). Gerson Santo contributed 11 points on 4-of-4 shooting from the floor in 14 minutes of action. Colorado State has won two games in a row.

Tyler Johnson scored a game-high 21 points on 8-of-14 shooting with three steals for Fresno State (8-9, 1-3). Paul Watson added 12 points and Cezar Guerrero netted 11 with five rebounds and three assists in the loss. The Bulldogs have lost three of their last four games.

The Rams connected on 45.2 percent of their shots from the floor in the first half, taking a 38-27 lead into halftime. Fresno State shot an even 40 percent from the floor in the opening 20 minutes.

Colorado State heated up in the second frame, connecting on 52.4 percent of its shot attempts and burying 11-of-13 from the free-throw line. The Bulldogs went cold in the second half, hitting just 8-of-27 (29.6 percent) from the field.

The Rams outscored the Bulldogs in the paint, 30-14, and won the battle on the boards, 43-27.
