Recap: Utah State vs. Colorado State

Logan, UT (SportsNetwork.com) - Spencer Butterfield and Jarred Shaw each scored 17 points to lead the Utah State Aggies to a 57-50 victory over the Colorado State Rams in Mountain West Conference action at Dee Glen Smith Spectrum.

Shaw also collected 10 rebounds and Preston Medlin tallied 12 points and eight assists for Utah State (12-4, 2-2 MWC).

J.J. Avila finished with a game-high 21 points and Daniel Bejarano added 20 for Colorado State (11-7, 2-3), which had won back-to-back games entering play.

Utah State claimed a 27-22 lead at halftime after shooting 43.5 percent from the floor in the first half, including a 5-of-10 showing from 3-point range. Colorado State could not keep up, netting just 37.5 percent from the field.

The Aggies cooled to 36 percent shooting after the break, but they hit 6-of-11 from beyond the arc and held the Rams to just eight field goals to hold on.

Utah State had a 16-6 scoring advantage off of turnovers.
