Recap: Missouri State vs. Northern Iowa

Springfield, MO (SportsNetwork.com) - Seth Tuttle nailed a jumper in the final seconds to lift the Northern Iowa Panthers to a thrilling 60-58 victory over the Missouri State Bears in a Missouri Valley Conference bout at JQH Arena.

Tuttle finished with 21 points and nine rebounds as the only player in double figures for Northern Iowa (13-13, 7-7 MVC), which has won consecutive games after a three-game losing streak.

Austin Ruder netted 15 points and Jarmar Gulley tallied a double-double of 14 points and 11 rebounds for Missouri State (17-7, 7-7). Dorrian Williams chipped in 11 points.

In the first half the Panthers shot an even 50 percent from the floor, while limiting the Bears to 34.6 percent. Northern Iowa led, 31-21, at the break.

Missouri State rallied in the final 20 minutes by shooting 52.2 percent from the field. A 7-0 run from the Bears during the home stretch tied the game at 58-58 with 37 seconds left. However, Tuttle grabbed an offensive rebound on the other end and sank the game-winner with just a second left to play.

Despite the narrow margin of victory, Northern Iowa never trailed and was tied just once in the contest.
