Recap: Fresno State vs. San Jose St

Fresno, CA ( - Cezar Guerrero scored a game-high 23 points, shooting 5-of-9 behind the 3-point line, as the Fresno State Bulldogs cruised to an 82-56 win over the San Jose State Spartans in Mountain West Conference play at the Save Mart Center.

Also scoring in double figures for the Bulldogs (11-13, 4-7 MWC), winners of three in a row for the first time this season, were Marvelle Harris and Tyler Johnson with 16 and 15 points, respectively, the latter clearing a game-high 10 rebounds as well.

The Spartans (6-17, 0-11) were led by Rashad Muhammad with 13 points, while Jaleel Williams accounted for 10 points in the team's 11th consecutive setback.

Fresno State scored the first points of the meeting and never looked back, shooting an impressive 55.9 percent from the field in the first half, including 9-of-16 beyond the arc, as it claimed a 50-29 advantage at the break.

The Spartans, who converted only 31.0 percent from the floor through the first 20 minutes, dropped to 29.6 percent in the second half, including a disappointing 3-of-14 on the perimeter, en route to the lopsided setback.

These teams are set to close out the regular season against each other on March 8 at The Events Center.
