Recap: Milwaukee vs. Northern Iowa

Milwaukee, WI (SportsNetwork.com) - Jordan Aaron and Matt Tiby each scored 19 points to lead the Milwaukee Panthers past the Northern Iowa Panthers, 83-72, in a non-conference bout at U.S. Cellular Arena.

Steve McWhorter added 16 points for Milwaukee (8-2), while Austin Arians chipped in 11 points. Kyle Kelm narrowly missed a double-double with nine points and nine rebounds for the hosts.

For UNI (3-4), Deon Mitchell put up 19 points on 7-of-12 from the field, while Wes Washpun and Chip Rank had 16 and 13 points, respectively.

UNI were the front-runners early, as it shot 45.5 percent from the field in the opening stanza en route to a 38-31 lead at halftime.

After shooting just 41.4 percent from the floor in the first half, Milwaukee improved to 48.4 percent after the break, while UNI slid to 35.5 percent. Milwaukee used a 30-5 run early in the second half to distance itself.

Milwaukee shot 10-of-27 from 3-point range on the night, while UNI was only 5- of-24 from beyond the arc.
