Recap: San Diego St vs. St Katherine

San Diego, CA (SportsNetwork.com) - Winston Shepard outscored St. Katherine's starting unit by himself with 21 points in 20th-ranked San Diego State's 118-35 rout of the local community college from Viejas Arena.

Shepard shot 7-of-9 and contributed eight rebounds, five assists and five steals while Dwayne Polee II tallied 19 points and 12 rebounds in the triumph. Aqeel Quinn and Matt Shrigley deposited 14 and 12 points, respectively, as SDSU (10-1) heads into the new year having won nine straight.

SDSU scored on its first four possessions and led 13-0 at the first media timeout. Four in a row from Shepard midway through the period made it 27-3, and the Aztecs led comfortably at the half, 63-17.

The second half featured more of the same, as the hosts cruised to the finish line.
