Recap: San Jose St vs. UNLV

San Jose, CA (SportsNetwork.com) - Roscoe Smith tallied 12 points and 15 rebounds, as the UNLV Runnin' Rebels made easy work of the San Jose State Spartans, 70-46, in a Mountain West Conference matchup at The Event Center.

Bryce Dejean-Jones and Deville Smith scored 13 points apiece for UNLV (14-7, 5-3 MWC), which has won three straight. Khem Birch netted nine points and blocked six shots for the visitors.

Jaleel Williams put up 16 points and nine rebounds as SJSU (6-15, 0-9) remained winless in conference play. Rashad Muhammad came off the bench to score 13.

UNLV shot 52.2 percent from the field in the first half, including 5-of-10 from 3-point range, as it carried a 35-27 lead into intermission. SJSU made good on just 34.4 percent of its tries from the floor in the opening stanza.

The Rebels' field goal efficiency dipped to 37.5 percent in the second stanza, but the Spartans were even worse at a dreadful 22.2 percent, as UNLV cruised to the 24-point win.

UNLV shot 20-of-27 from the free-throw line, while SJSU was 9-of-11 from the stripe.
