Recap: UNLV vs. Wyoming

Las Vegas, NV (SportsNetwork.com) - Khem Birch scored 10 points as the UNLV Runnin' Rebels won a tight one against the Wyoming Cowboys, 48-46, in a Mountain West clash at the Thomas & Mack Center.

Roscoe Smith logged eight points and nine rebounds for the Runnin' Rebels (16-8, 7-4 MWC), who have won five of their last six games.

Larry Nance Jr. finished with 12 points and nine boards for the Cowboys (14-9, 5-5), who have lost two consecutive contests. Riley Grabau added 11 points while Josh Adams tallied four assists. Grabau hit a 3-pointer with 1:05 to play to put the Cowboys down by two, which was the last score of the game.

UNLV shot 33.3 percent from the floor in the first half and took a 22-20 lead at the intermission. Wyoming made 50 percent of its field goal attempts but took nine fewer shots.

The Runnin' Rebels connected on 54.5 percent of their shots from the field in the second stanza. After the Cowboys tied it up just over a minute into the frame, UNLV went on a 6-0 run to create some space. The Runnin' Rebels would lead for the rest of the period.

The two teams combined for only nine free-throw attempts (UNLV 4, Wyoming 5).
