Recap: Wyoming vs. Northern Colorado
Laramie, WY (SportsNetwork.com) - Larry Nance Jr. erupted for a double-double consisting of 29 points and 13 rebounds as the Wyoming Cowboys took down the Bears of Northern Colorado, 72-59, in non-conference action at Arena Auditorium.
Nance, who shot 11-of-14 from the floor, added three blocked shots for the Cowboys (8-4) as they snapped a two-game slide. Also scoring in double figures for the Pokes were Josh Adams and Riley Grabau with 16 and 10 points, respectively.
The Bears (6-3) were led by Dominique Lee who dropped in 17 points, followed by Tevin Svihovec with 11 and both Jordan Wilson and Derrick Barden with 10 points apiece as the squad had a four-game win streak come to an end.
Nance played all 20 minutes into the first half as he tallied 14 points and six rebounds, but the rest of his teammates combined for only 12 points and the Cowboys also turned the ball over nine times, allowing the visitors to take a 28-26 advantage at the break.
In the second half Wyoming left no doubt as the group shot an incredible 84.2 percent (16-of-19) from the field, including 4-of-4 behind the 3-point line, en route to the double-digit win.
The Cowboys survived 17 miscues and just a single offensive rebound by shooting a sensational 69.4 percent from the field, compared to 37.1 percent for Northern Colorado.Game Notes
