Recap: Cal Poly vs. Cal State Fullerton

San Luis Obispo, CA (SportsNetwork.com) - Michael Williams tallied 23 points and seven rebounds to propel the Cal State Fullerton Titans to a 67-59 decision over the Cal Poly Mustangs in a Big West Conference matchup at Mott Gym.

Alex Harris added 13 points for the Titans (9-16, 4-7 Big West), while Steve McClellan chimed in with 10 points.

For Cal Poly (9-16, 5-7), Chris Eversley registered a double-double of 19 points and 12 boards. David Nwaba scored 13 points as the Mustangs were defeated for the second game in a row.

Cal State Fullerton connected on 51.7 percent of its field goal tries including 5-of-9 from beyond the arc in the first half. The Mustangs went into the intermission facing a 39-24 deficit after they were limited to 29.6 percent efficiency from the floor in the opening period.

Cal Poly heated up to connect on 42.3 percent of its field goal attempts in the second stanza. Although the Titans were held to 25.3 percent efficiency from the floor after the break, they managed to sink 16-of-24 shots at the charity stripe to keep the hosts at bay.

The Titans finished with a 37-34 edge in the rebounding battle.
